Tyler Mornéy
Through the power of imagination, bright lights, colors and textures, Tyler evokes the personal. Their Combs, 2021 project encapsulates what it means to return home and pay homage to where we come from. In their world, color is a conduit for inner transformation. Whether through heritage and ancestral lines or playful inner children, Tyler is able to heal and guide an audience back to themselves. Coming from a generational Mid-City, Los Angeles matriarchy, the colors of LA have been an influence since birth. It is no wonder then, that the young adults finding their lane against the backdrop of 90’s/2000’s Black Hollywood, made for an influential and grounded upbringing. Lineage and color will always be transfused. Tyler’s artwork functions as a creative doula, reuniting people to their inner worlds.
